The type of personal information we collect
We collect or use the following information to provide services, including delivery and third-party referrals:
•    Names and contact details
•    Employer details and addresses
•    Date of birth
•    Photographs or video recordings
•    Records of meetings and decisions
•    Members’ company names, addresses, turnover bands and CITB and/or CSCS registration numbers, where applicable
•    Member company representatives’ names, email addresses and telephone numbers
•    Member company workforce data, including names of individual trainees, dates of birth, job titles, dates of commencement of training courses, and registration numbers for training courses
How we get your personal information and why we collect it
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
•    To apply for TunnelSkills membership
•    To request support and guidance in training and upskilling activities
We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:
•    From the application form to become a TunnelSkills member
•    From information shared in member meetings
•    From direct consultation with member representatives
We use the information that you have given us in order to:
•    Contribute to an understanding of the UK tunnelling workforce
•    Assist members in the upskilling and training of their workforce
•    Develop strategies to enhance the quality and accessibility of training
Lawful bases and data protection rights

•    Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. You can request other information such as details about where we get personal information from and who we share personal information with. If you make a request, we must respond to you without undue delay and in any event within one month.

Our lawful bases for collecting or using personal information to provide services, including delivery and third-party referrals are:
•    Contract – we have to collect or use the information so we can enter into or carry out a contract with you. All of your data protection rights may apply except the right to object.
•    Legitimate interests – we’re collecting or using your information because it benefits you, our organisation or someone else, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. Our legitimate interests are:
•    For unique identification of individuals on a training record to capture registration on an industry specific register

How we store your personal information
We will store this information appropriately and it will be destroyed after 7 years.
Who we share this information with
We may share this information with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) in order to fulfil TunnelSkills’ obligations within the CITB funding agreement.
